Pila: Heritages Houses



        Did you know why Pila is called bayang pinagpala? It is because Pila is a blessed place that survived during the  world war 2 and the antique houses that cannot be destroyed by calamities.

        Located in the municipality of Pila in Laguna, Pila Church is One of the many well preserved spanish-era churches in the province.

           The church of pila is came from of Pagalangan of victoria. The main material in building the first antonine church is egg white and shell.
           Also know as San Antonio de Padua parsih Church, like what its name suggests,  it is dedeicated to St. Antony de Padua who is also the patron saints of traveler, pregrant womer, poor people, and even animals. Pila Church is also the first Antonine Parish Church in the philippines. It was founded in 1578 using the cane plant as the primary material. In 1599, Pila Church was reconstructed using stone.

According to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10066

Section 13. Maintenance of Heritage Zones. - A heritage zone shall be maintained by the local government unit concerned, in accordance with the following guidelines:

(a)Implementation of adaptive reuse of cultural property;

(b)Appearance of streets, parks, monuments, buildings, and natural bodies of water, canals, paths and barangays within a locality shall be maintained as close to their appearance at the time the area was of most importance to Philippine history as determined by the National Historical Institute; and

(c)Local government units shall document and sustain all sociocultural practices such as, but not limited to, traditional celebrations, historical battles, recreation of customs, and the reenactment of battles and other local customs that are unique to a locality.

These ancestral houses is protected by the law. According to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10066
